Last night we had a work function at Hellenic Republic, and Sammi & Leah were picking me up.
I was waiting on the corner of Lonsdale St & Spring Street when I saw a police car come down
Spring with the lights flashing, but no siren blaring.
A car that was going thru the intersection did not see them, yet the car behind them did and beeped to warn them, but not quick enough.
Sure enough, the cop car went ploughing into the civilian car (sounds like I watch too much Law & Order) and the civilian car spun around and kind of half flipped onto the nature strip.
It was so, so awful to see it happen.
I ran to the cop car which landed about 1 meter from where I was standing and ripped open the door, and shook the police officer, asking if they were okay.
The lady police officer who was driving just kept repeating "It was a green light. It was a green light, wasn't it??" but I'm sure it was..

They must have been in shock because it took them a minute to register what I was asking them, but then they sprang into action and ran to the other car to check the occupants.
I don't think anyone was seriously hurt, but by that stage I was standing in the petrol leak and someone told me to move away from the petrol, just in case.
I went back to where I was standing, and was shaking! I hope that everyone was okay and not hurt.
Later S told me he heard the BANG from our apartment down the road, so it must have been pretty darn loud.
