Amy Winehouse Dies

A day after their beloved daughter, sister and niece was found dead in her flat, Amy Winehouse’s grieving family have spoken out about their loss.
The Winehouse family said today: ‘Our family has been left bereft by the loss of Amy, a wonderful daughter, sister, niece.
‘She leaves a gaping hole in our lives. We are coming together to remember her and we would appreciate some privacy and space at this terrible time.’
As the singer’s family cope with their grief, fans were paying tribute to the star by creating a shrine outside her North London flat in Camden.
From writing on footpaths saying ‘We love Amy’, to massive bunches of flowers lining the area outside her home, the tributes kept pouring in.
Some friends and fans left bottles of alcohol, cigarettes and wine glasses at the scene, while others left photographs and portraits of Amy, who died at 27, next to candles in her memory.
A picture of the beehived soul-jazz singer was also stuck to an address sign in Camden Square near her home, in which she was found dead yesterday afternoon.
Many notes were also left, one reading 'Too fragile, too beautiful, too big a talent for this world', and another which said: 'To an exquisite singer with a beautiful voice'.
Hundreds of mourners have visited the area of her flat and local pub to remember the star and fans also gathered at her favourite haunt The Hawley Arms in Camden last night after hearing the news.
Comedian and former drug addict Russell Brand today paid a lengthy written tribute to Amy Winehouse, saying addiction should be treated as a potentially fatal disease.
Brand met her on the Camden pub scene a number of years ago, and said at first he thought she was ‘just some twit in a pink satin jacket shuffling round bars’.
He said when he spoke to her she was ‘sweet and peculiar but most of all vulnerable’.
By chance Brand saw her perform with Paul Weller at the Roundhouse in Camden, north London, and had an epiphany.
In the piece posted on his website he wrote: ‘Entering the space I saw Amy on stage with Weller and his band; and then the awe.
‘The awe that envelops when witnessing a genius. From her oddly dainty presence that voice, a voice that seemed not to come from her but from somewhere beyond even Billie and Ella, from the font of all greatness.
‘That twerp, all eyeliner and lager dithering up Chalk Farm Road under a back-combed barnet, the lips that I'd only seen clenching a fishwife fag and dribbling curses now a portal for this holy sound.’
Brand has given frank accounts of his battle to overcome drug addiction, and said loved ones will always fear getting a phone call with the worst news possible.
At the time he met Winehouse, he himself had not yet got clean, and he said: ‘Winehouse and I shared an affliction, the disease of addiction.’
In the piece Brand accused the media of being more interested in ‘tragedy than talent’, and therefore said they focused more on her personal battles than her musical career.
He went on: ‘Addiction is a serious disease; it will end with jail, mental institutions or death.
‘Now Amy Winehouse is dead, like many others whose unnecessary deaths have been retrospectively romanticised, at 27 years old.
‘Whether this tragedy was preventable or not is now irrelevant. It is not preventable today.’
‘We have lost a beautiful and talented woman to this disease. Not all addicts have Amy's incredible talent.
‘Or Kurt's (Cobain) or Jimi's (Hendrix) or Janis's (Joplin), some people just get the affliction. All we can do is adapt the way we view this condition, not as a crime or a romantic affectation but as a disease that will kill.’
Amy's management Metropolis Music also released a statement today saying: 'We are trying to come to terms with the death of a dear friend and colleague, the most amazing artist and talent.
'We will always remember Amy as a vibrant, funny, caring young woman who made everyone around her feel welcome.  We have lost a very special person, part of our family.'
While the owner of her favourite pub The Hawley Arms said: ‘She was a special person with a good soul and this should not have happened. We will sorely miss her.’
Speaking on Friday night just hours before her death, Tony Bennett who had recently had a recording session with Amy, praised her talent.
While being interviewed on Radio 4’s Front Row programme, he said: ‘Amy was beautiful, she was something that I respect an awful lot, she was quite nervous. I met Sinatra and he was nervous too.
‘What I like about her is that she’s truly a good jazz singer, she’s not making believe it, she’s singing completely original and inventive.  And I don’t know another young artist that does that.’
The 27-year-old star, who had fought a long and well-publicised battle with drink and drug addiction, was pronounced dead after police were called to her £2.5 million three-storey home in North London.
Scotland Yard have said a post-mortem examination won’t take place before tomorrow and they cannot yet confirm the exact  cause of death until the results are received.
But it has been claimed that she was seen buying drugs from a dealer in Camden just after 10:30pm on Friday night.
A source told The People that she was seen buying substances, believed to be cocaine, heroin, ecstasy and ketamine leading up to the hours before her death.
She is also thought to have been drinking heavily, which may have been the trigger of a lethal concoction of drugs and alcohol – leading to a suspected overdose.

Frances Bean Cobain

With Amy Winehouse’s passing, other celebrity parents who left us due to addiction are coming back into the light including Kurt Cobain and Heath Ledger. But it’s their children that we worry about.
Frances Bean Cobain was not even 2-years-old when her father tragically took his own life. Cobainturned 18-years-old last summer and inherited a multi-million dollar inheritance.
But Cobain has gained so much more than just a lump sum of money. The late rocker’s daughter interned for Rolling Stonemagazine in 2008, and she debuted a collection of dark sketches at the La Luz de Jesus Gallery in July 2010. The artwork drew critical praise and sold out quickly.

Since then, Cobain has pretty much gone into hiding and not much has been heard of Kurt Cobain’s only child.

Vegas

Kim Kardashian celebrated her last big night out as an unmarried woman at her bachelorette party last night at the nightclub Tao in Las Vegas. And, as you would expect from the reality star, the party sounds like it had all the wild and crazy traditional trappings any bride-to-be could dream of ... or cringe at. After all, party hostess and younger sis, Khloe Kardashian, vowed to do her best to embarrass Kim in front of other guests sister Kourtney Kardashian, mom Kris Jenner, and friends LaLa Vasquez Anthony and Brittny Gastineau.
But surely, the "Tao Bacheorette" pink sash and light-up tiara Kim had to wear, suggestive accessories (phallic straws and a cake), and even the miniature male stripper who jumped on the dinner table to perform a striptease were all in good fun. Actually, overall, it sounds like a picture perfect night, right? That is until ... Kim totally broke down and totally wrecked her own bachelorette party!
Oh yeah. See, fiance Kris was partying nearby, having his own bachelor party at LAVO with all of the guys of the Kardashian crowd and basketball star buddies. And Kim actually went over to his VIP booth to surprise him around 2 a.m.!
Huh!?! What? Let's back up and review. This was Kris's last hurrah as a single dude, which, let's face it, after The Hangover, is treated like a sacred thing to men ... especially in Vegas. AND it was Kim's last hurrah as a single lady out with just the girls!! Yet Kim thinks it's okay to show up to say, "Heeeeyyyy honaaay!" Ha, noooooo! It's not supposed to work like that. But I guess we know from Kim's track record that she's not very good at keeping the male attention at bay -- even for one night. And ah well, that's okay! We love her in spite of it and sometimes, because of it!
Plus, well, I guess it's a testament to how in love these two are that they couldn't stay apart. In fact, Kris planted a huge smackaroo on Kim in front of everyone in the club. (Because, really, what else are you going to do when everyone, plus cameras probably, are staring while your fiance crashes your bachelor party?) Then, Kim only hung out for a little while, before leaving her hubby-to-be alone with the other guys and doing her own thing with the other K women. Whew! Thank goodness! Hopefully, in the end, she made the most of her big night!

Russell Brand

After Amy Winehouse tragically passed away at the age of 27 Saturday afternoon in London, many celebrities expressed their grief and sadness on Twitter. But Russell Brand, a longtime friend of Amy's, took to his personal website to write a very lovely tribute message:
Russell writes (edited for length):

When you love someone who suffers from the disease of addiction you await the phone call. There will be a phone call. The sincere hope is that the call will be from the addict themselves, telling you they've had enough, that they're ready to stop, ready to try something new. Of course though, you fear the other call, the sad nocturnal chime from a friend or relative telling you it's too late, she's gone. Frustratingly it's not a call you can ever make it must be received. It is impossible to intervene.

I've known Amy Winehouse for years. When I first met her around Camden she was just some twit in a pink satin jacket shuffling round bars with mutual friends, most of whom were in cool Indie bands or peripheral Camden figures Withnail-ing their way through life on impotent charisma. Carl Barrat told me that "Winehouse" (which I usually called her and got a kick out of cos it's kind of funny to call a girl by her surname) was a jazz singer, which struck me as a bizarrely anomalous in that crowd. To me with my limited musical knowledge this information placed Amy beyond an invisible boundary of relevance; "Jazz singer? She must be some kind of eccentric" I thought. I chatted to her anyway though, she was after all, a girl, and she was sweet and peculiar but most of all vulnerable.

I arrived late and as I made my way to the audience through the plastic smiles and plastic cups I heard the rolling, wondrous resonance of a female vocal. Entering the space I saw Amy on stage with Weller and his band; and then the awe. The awe that envelops when witnessing a genius. From her oddly dainty presence that voice, a voice that seemed not to come from her but from somewhere beyond even Billie and Ella, from the font of all greatness. A voice that was filled with such power and pain that it was at once entirely human yet laced with the divine. My ears, my mouth, my heart and mind all instantly opened. Winehouse. Winehouse? Winehouse! That twerp, all eyeliner and lager dithering up Chalk Farm Road under a back-combed barnet, the lips that I'd only seen clenching a fishwife fag and dribbling curses now a portal for this holy sound. So now I knew. She wasn't just some hapless wannabe, yet another pissed up nit who was never gonna make it, nor was she even a ten-a-penny-chanteuse enjoying her fifteen minutes. She was a f****** genius.
Shallow fool that I am I now regarded her in a different light, the light that blazed down from heaven when she sang. That lit her up now and a new phase in our friendship began. She came on a few of my TV and radio shows, I still saw her about but now attended to her with a little more interest. Publicly though, Amy increasingly became defined by her addiction. Our media though is more interested in tragedy than talent, so the ink began to defect from praising her gift to chronicling her downfall. The destructive personal relationships, the blood soaked ballet slippers, the aborted shows, that youtube madness with the baby mice. In the public perception this ephemeral tittle-tattle replaced her timeless talent. This and her manner in our occasional meetings brought home to me the severity of her condition. Addiction is a serious disease; it will end with jail, mental institutions or death. I was 27 years old when through the friendship and help of Chip Somers of the treatment centre, Focus12 I found recovery, through Focus I was introduced to support fellowships for alcoholics and drug addicts which are very easy to find and open to anybody with a desire to stop drinking and without which I would not be alive.
Now Amy Winehouse is dead, like many others whose unnecessary deaths have been retrospectively romanticised, at 27 years old. Whether this tragedy was preventable or not is now irrelevant. It is not preventable today. We have lost a beautiful and talented woman to this disease. Not all addicts have Amy's incredible talent. Or Kurt's or Jimi's or Janis's, some people just get the affliction. All we can do is adapt the way we view this condition, not as a crime or a romantic affectation but as a disease that will kill. We need to review the way society treats addicts, not as criminals but as sick people in need of care. We need to look at the way our government funds rehabilitation. It is cheaper to rehabilitate an addict than to send them to prison, so criminalisation doesn't even make economic sense. Not all of us know someone with the incredible talent that Amy had but we all know drunks and junkies and they all need help and the help is out there. All they have to do is pick up the phone and make the call. Or not. Either way, there will be a phone call.

Amy Winehouse Passed Away

To many, singer Amy Winehouse (27) who passed away on Saturday night was a veritable enigma.
Amy Winehouse Passed Away
Despite being in the public eye and hitting headlines regularly for her addictions, little was known about the singer herself. Here are a few things you may or may not know about her. Presenting, a short history of a girl, gone too soon...

1 Amy Jade Winehouse was born on September 14, 1983 in the well-to-do area of Southgate, north London.

2 She had hazel-coloured eyes and was 5 feet 2 inches.

3 Amy has a number of 'old school'; tattoos of naked women on her body.

4 Amy's favourite cocktail is Rickstasy. That is three parts vodka, one part Southern Comfort, one part banana liqueur, and one part Baileys.

5 Had her waxwork unveiled at Madame Tussauds in London on July 23, 2008.

6 Posed naked for the April 2008 issue of British magazine, Easy Living, in a bid to raise awareness about breast cancer among young women.

7 She trained at the Susi Earnshaw Theatre School from the age of eight and, by the time she was 10, had formed a rap group with one of her best friends.

8 Her taxi driver father, Mitchell, was a jazz enthusiast and often sang songs to her when she was growing up.

9 She began writing music at the age of 14 and a former boyfriend sent a tape of her
singing with a jazz band to an A&R (Artists and Repertoire) man.

10 Her favourite artists include Nas, Mos Def, Teena Marie, Beastie Boys, Carol King, Mahalia Jackson and Thelonious Monk.

11 She co-wrote all but two of the songs and won praise for what one reviewer described as "the cool, critical gaze" in the lyrics.

12 In an article published in The Daily Telegraph Magazine, the September number, the singer was quoted as saying that she is a diagnosed manic depressive who refuses to take medication.

13 She confessed to self-harming and spoke of battles with eating disorders. And she shocked a journalist from US magazine Spin when she carved the name of then-boyfriend Blake Fielder-Civil into her stomach with a shard of mirror during an interview. In May 2007, Amy married Blake Fielder-Civil in a secret ceremony in Miami.

14 Amy and her husband were arrested in Norway for marijuana possession (October 2007).

15 Bryan Adams wrote a song for Amy in a bit to help her overcome her drug habit. The song titled Flower Grown Wild, is about the dangers of taking drugs.

16 While performing at a concert in Birmingham England in Nov 2007, Amy was booed by the audience, with people walking out in protest to her drunken state.

17 She took part in a successful campaign to save The George Tavern (an English pub) by designing a T-shirt. The campaign came to its happy ending in July of the same year. The aim of the protest was to defeat a motion to construct a housing project near the pub. The project would have resulted in the closing of the pub since The George Tavern is also a concert venue and noise complaints would have been expected.

18 She was invited to join a group of 72 Austrian singing monks. The monks, known as the Cistercian Monks Of Stift Heiligenkreuz recorded an album of Gregorian chants which went to #1. The monks felt they could help Amy through her troubles and discuss their faith with her.

19 In April 2008, Amy was voted the greatest heroine among under British 25-year-olds in a poll conducted, beating people such as Florence Nightingale and Mother Teresa. In June 2008, Amy was voted the celebrity most likely to retire early. The poll was conducted online with more than 36,000 Britons taking part, with 30 per cent of the vote going to Amy, whose debut album Frank, released in 2003, was described by The Times newspaper as 'earthy, warm, lived-in and astonishingly versatile.'

20 Her album Back to Black was announced as one of the 12 albums on the 2007 shortlist of Mercury Prize nominees.

21 Her song Rehab is based on her past refusal to attend an alcohol rehabilitation centre after it was encouraged by her management company.

22 She famously said, "I'm of the school of thought where, if you can't sort something out for yourself, no one can help you. Rehab is great for some people but not others."

23 She had recently finished a course of alcohol rehabilitation in London and at the time was under strict instructions not to drink. The Grammy award-winner had struggled with drink and drug addiction and had spent time in rehab.

24 By 2010, things turned around for Winehouse when she popped up looking healthier - and holding hands and kissing a new love, British film director Reg Traviss.

25 Hawley Arms a pub in Camden was her favourite pub. She even used to serve behind the bar sometimes. She made her last public appearance on Wednesday night when she joined her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield on stage at The Roundhouse in Camden

26 As late as June 21, the troubled Brit called off the remainder of her 12-date European tour following the Belgradeconcert. Winehouse's rep, Chris Goodman, said the singer was withdrawing from all scheduled performances as she recovered.

27 On July 23 this year, 27-year-old Winehouse was found dead in her London home. The cause of her death has not yet been revealed.

SONA

Sona Heiden who is known for the 'sex-siren' in her and who has impressed many with her vigorous roles in South Indian cinema has been inspired by 'Dirty Picture', an upcoming Bollywood film based on yesteryear heartthrob Silk Smitha. The film is now being done in Hindi with Vidya Balan playing the lead role.
Now, Sona Heiden, the Miss South India (2002) wants to do an autobiopic, meaning, a film based on her life. Not just that, the film will be produced by her production banner and the director has not been zeroed in on yet. But Sona expressed she wants to do a film based on the real incidents of her life.
The actress, when heard about this film on Silk Smitha, was struck with this idea and felt her own life story will make a bold film. Sources in the know add that the film will show three stages from her life and it will be a trilingual, releasing in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.

Jang Hyuk

For fans who’ve wondered and admired Jang Hyuk’s luxurious and muscular body, Jang Hyuk recently revealed the steps in making his muscular body on the June 29th broadcast of SBS’s ‘One Night of TV Entertainment‘.
His first secret was in making the arms muscular. Jan Hyuk revealed, “I always carry 10 kg. (22 pounds) worth of weights in the car.” He showed how he endured holding the weights 90 degrees as he did 1 set around 10 times with the 10 kg. weights .

His second secret was in making the abs. Jang Hyuk suggested, “Every day, try to perform 100 high leg kicks. To make the abs toned you have to always be on the move. When you hold your legs up, you’re strengthening the stomach.”
Jang Hyuk’s last bonus secret was in creating a well balanced body as a practitioner of Jeet Kune Do, which was Bruce Lee’s martial art philosophy.

Neha Dhupia

Neha Dhupia
It's the season of love in Bollywood, at least for actor Neha Dhupia. The former Miss India, who ended her relationship with squash player Ritwik Bhattacharya last year, is now reportedly dating Venezuelan eyecandy Jimmy.

Jimmy accompanied the Phas Gaye Re Obama star to IIFA as well. “How and where she met him is a mystery. But she is definitely in love with that man, who she was constantly with, in Toronto, last weekend,” a source told Mumbai Mirror.
Neha has apparently moved on and is quite happy with the new man in her life. “The interesting part is that Jimmy got along with many actors at the award ceremony. He is quite a charismatic, good-looking guy. Neha was looking very happy with Jimmy. They seem to suit each other perfectly,” added the source.

After dating Ritwik for more than 10 years, the actor called it quits. “Last year, they started quarrelling a lot over small matters and it ultimately made them resent each other,” explained the source.

Kid Rock

Kid Rock says he'll be playing a hometown concert at Detroit's baseball park this summer. That's not surprising, considering the 40-year-old Detroit-based musician makes a habit of playing local gigs.
It's how he made the announcement Thursday that was slightly unorthodox.
Rock, Detroit Red Wings captain Nicklas Lidstrom and retired Red Wings defenseman Chris Chelios used paddle boards to cross the Detroit River to Belle Isle. A bare-footed Rock then strolled to a beachfront microphone and lectern and said he'd be playing Comerica Park Aug. 12 with opening act Sammy Hagar and the Wabos.
The rocker says Chelios called him a day earlier and asked if he wanted to go paddle-boarding.
Knowing his booking manager wanted him to announce the August show soon, he combined both activities into one.

Billy Bob Thornton

Billy Bob Thornton‘s estranged daughter Amanda Brumfield has been found guilty of aggravated manslaughter of a 1-year-old girl in Orlando. Amanda was tried in the same courthouse as the more high profile case of Casey Anthony, the Florida mother accused of killing her two-year-old daughter.
Amanda, 32, was convicted last Friday, the Associated Press reports, and is expected to be sentenced in July.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Amanda received her verdict in the same Orlando courthouse where Casey Anthonyis being tried for the murder of her daughter.
“In contrast to the more high-profile Casey Anthony trial, expected to drag on for months in a courtroom 13 floors above it, the Brumfield trial took less than a week,” theOS reports.
The prosecutors in the case maintain that Amanda killed her best best friend’s daughter during an overnight babysitting job in October 2008.
Amanda claims that 1-year-old Olivia Madison Garcia was trying to climb out of a playpen when she hit her head and sustained trauma. Her defense team suggests the fall may have “aggravated a previous injury, causing her death,” the AP reports.
However, prosecutors find it impossible that a fall from that low height would cause a three-and-a-half inch fracture on the back of the girl’s skull and the bleeding and swelling found in her brain.
She will be sentenced in July and was found not guilty of first-degree murder and aggravated child-abuse charges.

Blake Lively

Blake Lively may be used to drama on Gossip Girl, but the squeaky-clean actress is now facing an internet scandal so outrageous, even the show’s titular anonymous gossip blogger would hesitate to send out this blast to her readers.
Nude images rumoured to feature the Green Lantern actress hit the interwebs Tuesday night. The cell phone shots include a close up of the woman who looks remarkably like Lively, along with four nude photos that cleverly hide the woman’s face. Lively's rep told Us Weekly, "The photos of Blake Lively which have just surfaced on various websites including Perez Hilton and Zap2it are 100 percent fake."
The actress and her team are taking things a step further and have threatened to sue any publication that runs the fake photos, reports Us Weekly.
"Blake has never taken nude photos of herself. Blake will pursue legal action against the publication which initially published these photographs and any other outlets that republish them in any manner," her rep told the mag.
While the photos come at a very inconvenient time (her latest flick, Green Lantern, is set to open June 17), those aren't the only pictures generating headlines for Lively. After weeks of speculation that they’re dating, the actress and rumoured beau Leonardo DiCaprio were photographed walking hand-in-hand down the French Riviera after spending an evening dining together in Monte Carlo. An onlooker told Us Weekly (who posted the photo on their site), "He looked very in love." Another source added, "Her face lit up when Leo was talking."
The pair has reportedly spent a lot of time together recently. DiCaprio reportedly even took the Gossip Girl as his guest to a Grand-Prix viewing event. Lively has already won over Karl Lagerfeld and Anna Wintour, become the face of Chanel, landed a role in one of this summer’s hugest blockbusters, and now she’s hooked Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor? Even with a nude photo scandal, we’d say she’s still winning.

KINGSTON TO MAKE FULL RECOVERY
Sean Kingston is expected to be fully recovered from his jet-ski accident in six weeks.
The "Beautiful Girls" singer suffered a broken jaw, fractured wrist and water in his lungs when he crashed into the Palm Island Bridge in Miami, Florida on Sunday, unnamed insiders told CNN.
The singer was said to be in a "critical but stable condition" in the intensive care unit of Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was in a trauma ward before being moved to an intensive care unit.
Witnesses revealed Sean's lifejacket fell off during the collision, which caused him to sink under the water.
Rescuers Carmen Rivera, Jonathan Rivera and Jimmy Vega – who were in a boat approaching Palm Island Bridge –described how they found Sean in a bad way.
Carmen Rivera explained: "They were calling us over, telling us, 'He's drowning, he's drowning.'"
Jonathan Rivera added: "I pushed him up, and he was vomiting what seemed like water, and then there was some blood coming out."
Vega said the singer had a neck injury and was "extremely dazed and in danger of drowning."
Cassandra Sanchez was also riding on the jet-ski with Kingston when they crashed, which left her injured and hospitalised, according to an accident report from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

SHOTGUN WEDDING FOR KARDASHIAN?
Given the Kardashians family’s dependence on media attention, it was no surprise when insiders told Life & Style that Kim Kardashian and new fiancĂ© Kris Humphries were planning to wed in two months.
"The wedding is going to be at the end of July or the beginning of August," said the mag’s source. "The reason they're rushing it is because they want to do it before the basketball season starts again, so that they have time to have a romantic honeymoon!"
However, sources told OK! Magazine that the quick nuptials may have less to do with the basketball season and more to do with a possible pregnancy. Yes, Kim Kardashian is allegedly with child.
"Kim always thought she'd have at least one or two kids by now, so she's absolutely in a hurry," an insider told OK! in this week’s issue. "And Kris loves kids and doesn't see any reason to wait. Her friends are even taking bets on whether it will be a boy or a girl."
No confirmation from either the Kardashian or Humphries camps, but we are curious to see if Kim’s stomach could soon match her butt.
Meanwhile, the curvy reality star is reportedly eager to change her name to Kim Humphries once she and her betrothed have tied the knot. She may face a battle with mom Kris Jenner, who recently told PopEater that the Kardashian name is vital to her daughter’s success.
"I don’t think she should take his name and be Kim Humphries,” Jenner said. “She needs to be Kim Kardashian because she’s worked so hard to get where she is.”
Yes, anyone who has seen an episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians knows exactly how hard that family works.

CELEBRITY BREAKUPS
If your Spidey sense is tingling -- to the point you want to gorge yourself on ice-cream sundaes topped with tears -- here's why: everyone's breaking up in Hollywood!
(OK, OK…we’re exaggerating; we do that when we're feeling emotional.)
It's splitsville for only two couples (that we know of): Andrew "new Spider-Man" Garfield and Shannon Woodward, and Ryan Phillippe and Amanda Seyfried.
First up: the dish on Garfield and Woodward. The couple had been an item for three years, People reports -- long before Garfield, 27, was turning heads with his role in The Social Network or Woodward, 26, had landed a spot on Fox comedy Raising Hope.
A source close to the couple confirmed the split to People, though they didn't leave a reason for the break-up (or the requisite pat statement about how the split was mutual, or amicable, or something of the sort). As the magazine notes, the couple had tried to stay together as much as possible, despite the frequent relocating their profession demands. "She travels with me when she's not working," Garfield told Parade.com last year. "Whenever we have time, we're together."
As for Seyfried and Phillippe, they've seemingly kept a much more on-again/off-again profile than Garfield and Woodward -- ever since their first reported hook-up last Halloween. Still, Us Weekly reports Seyfried, 25, and Phillippe, 36, have gone from off-ish to off-off. "It was mutual," a source told the magazine. "They were never fully committed," the source said, later saying that both Seyfried and Phillippe had been seeing other people during their seven-month run.

SCHWARZENEGGER HIRES ANISTON'S DIVORCE LAWYER
Arnold Schwarzenegger has hired the lawyer who handled Jennifer Aniston's divorce.
The Terminator actor has hired Robert "Bob" Kaufman, who has already been in touch with his wife, Maria Shriver's legal representative, Laura Wasser, and claims they are "moving forward" with proceedings to end their 25-year marriage, according to gossip website TMZ.
Kaufman's work in Hollywood saw him negotiate for Aniston in her 2005 marriage split from Brad Pitt, as well as for Reese Witherspoon and Jessica Simpson.
He and Wasserhave gone head-to-head in court before, and both of them specialize in keeping stars' splits low profile.

Marilyn Monroe

Norma Jean Mortenson was born on this day in 1926 right here in Los Angeles; she would endure a difficult childhood and become screen star Marilyn Monroe.
Although she often played blond bimbos, Monroe was quite a reader. There's a photograph of Monroe reading "Ulysses"by James Joyce in what looks like down time during a playground photo shoot. Of course, since it's Marilyn, she's wearing a bathing suit. Such is the price of pinup-dom.
When she died in 1962, Marilyn Monroe's library included "The Fall" by Albert Camus; a book of lectures by J. Robert Oppenheimer, father of the atom bomb; stories by Chekhov; Dostoevsky's "Crime and Punishment"; Sherwood Anderson's "Winesburg, Ohio"; two books by Theodore Dreiser; three books by Bertrand Russell; lots of plays; "Moses and Monotheism" by Sigmund Freud; and "Madame Bovary" by Gustave Flaubert. Those are all part of Marilyn Monroe'slibrary as cataloged by volunteers on the website LibraryThing.
In 2010, Farrar, Straus and Giroux released a book of Monroe's own writings, "Fragments: Poems, Intimate Notes, Letters by Marilyn Monroe." In our review, Richard Schickel noted that the book showed how much Monroe "became a devoted reader of serious literature."
Happy 85th birthday, Marilyn Monroe.

Nicholas TSE

THE marriage of Hong Kong stars Nicholas Tse Ting-Fung and Cecilia Cheung is apparently on the rocks again following a recent photo of Cheung and her ex-boyfriend Edison Chen on the plane, China Pressreported.
The Hong Kong media reported that Tse had ordered his lawyer to issue a letter to Cheung stating his intent to separate. However, Tse, through his production company, denied the rumours.
It reported that Tse was angry with his wife for taking photos with Chen on the plane.
Hong Kong heart-throb Chen was embroiled in a sex scandal several years ago when photographs of him engaging in sexual acts with a bevy of celebrities, including Cheung, appeared.
It reported that Tse refused to celebrate Cheung's 31st birthday with her on Tuesday as he was still angry with her.
Tse was involved in a film shoot in Malaysia while Cheung brought her son Lucas to celebrate her birthday in Taiwan.
Tse's mother Deborah Li is looking after the couple's sons Lucas and Quintus so the couple can settle their differences and patch up.
The Hong Kong media also reported that Cheung scolded reporters when she was spotted at Taiwan's Taoyuan International Airport with her son Lucas.
She was said to have asked photographers to delete the photos and reportedly refused to board the plane as she was disturbed by the media.

Cecilia Cheung

Rumors have been running rampant that Cecilia Cheung and Nicholas Tse, one of the hottest Chinese celebrity couples, are nearing a divorce. Local newspapers and Websites have been carrying such headlines as "Nicholas Tse asks Cecilia to move out;" "Tse-Cheung fairytale is over;" or even more explicitly, "Cecilia Cheung and Nicholas Tse divorced."
Neither Cheung nor Tse have said whether they have broken up, but Tse did issue a statement on May 30, via his agent, saying he never asked for a separation, and accusing a Hong Kong newspaper of libel.
The words Tse used in his statement are ambiguous. They seem to emphasize that it was not him to be blamed for Cheung's moving out, as Hong Kong media pointed out that Cheung did leave Tse's property to live in a rented house.
What's really going on between the couple? What has led to the divorce rumors? Let's take a look at two of the most likely guesses.
Hong Kong radio show host Cha Siu-yan, who claims to be a close friend of the Tse family, is the most cited source for the couple's problem.
Cha has said that the seemingly-happy couple had long been involved in a dispute over property. She dismissed rumors that the couple had divorced, but continued about the property dispute, saying that Cheung had asked Tse to transfer ownership of all his properties, including a villa Tse bought for his father, under her name.
"It seems as though Cecilia wants to drain Nicholas of all his assets and property - when I heard this news about Cecilia, I actually didn't really believe it myself," Cha said at her radio show.
The man who challenged Cecilia Cheung and Nicholas Tse's marriage years ago is involved again.
In early 2008, a sex photo scandal that involved singer-actor Edison Chen and several female stars, Cecilia Cheung being one, shocked the Chinese entertainment circle. It turned out that Edison Chen, who had had intimate relationships with the stars, saved the photos in his computer, and the photos were retrieved and leaked online when Chen took in the computer for maintenance.
By the time of the scandal, Cecilia Cheung had been married to Tse for two years. Their first son, Lucas, was already born.
The media showed great sympathy for Tse as they imagined what he had to go through. An emotional Cecilia Cheung also appeared at a televised interview, calling Edison Chen's apology a fake gesture.
As Edison Chen faded from the spotlight, Cheung and Tse seemed to get over the scandal. In May 2010, their second son, Quintus, was born.
After giving birth to Quintus, Cheung launched a high-profile comeback to her acting career, signing on to star in several films. The contracts reportedly made her the top-earning actress in Hong Kong.
Earlier this month, on May 8, Cecilia Cheung ran into Edison Chen on a plane from Taipei to Hong Kong. Reports say Cheung voluntarily asked to switch her seat to the one next to Chen's. The two enjoyed the reunion by chitchatting and posing for photos.
However, Cheung strongly denied the reunion, saying the media was making up stories, but Edison Chen's agent confirmed that the encounter and the chatting were all true.
This airborne episode seemed to have an impact on Nicholas Tse, who was apart from Cecilia Cheung on her 31st birthday on May 24, while Cheung spent the day with her son and friends in Taipei.
Cecilia Cheung is working on a romantic film, "Repeat, I Love You", in Shenzhen in southern China. In the film, she acts alongside South Korean heartthrob Kwon Sang-woo.
However, Cheung was absent from the movie's press conference on May 27, causing wide speculations that her absence was due to her marriage crisis.
Nicholas Tse, on the other hand, is filming the action film "Against War" in Malaysia.
