Lollys. Sugar Rush.

Our lolly bar was a massive hit on Saturday night, people of all ages loved it.

It was a last minute decision, we decided to have it in the week leading up to the wedding. Had I have had more time, I would have had all the lollies the same colour, and all the jars more matching and perfect.

Bron, our awesome wedding coordinator, set it up and added more of the Windsors vases as I did not supply enough, as I thought it was just going on the guest book table – not a table of its own.

I stamped white paper lolly bags with our names, in blue ink.

Surprisingly, we had a box of lollies left over.

I originally bought about 30kg.

We are slowly chewing our way through these.

Top Tier

S just went and picked up the last of our loot from The Hotel Windsor, and came back with the top tier of our cake and some more flowers that were on the tables.

Majority of our table flowers were taken by our Mums to be placed on the graves of loved ones.

We were going to freeze the top tier whole, but could not resist cutting 2 slices as we did not eat any on the night. It was delicious! 2 flavours, chocolate fudge/macadamia and white choc/raspberry.

It is now nestled in our freezer.

I want to dry out these roses, how do I do so?

We don't have a laundry as such, it is the same as our kitchen and our only out door area is a balcony with no protection from the elements, 7 floors up.

Our cake was by Cioccolata Bella and tasted divine. I had a few brides-to-be ask me who made the cake, as it was so moist and amazing!!

Our Wedding Reception

OUR WEDDING RECEPTION!!

This photo was actually taken at 3am, after brushing my hair for an hour. It became so matted and frizzy throughout the reception, which was my fault as I took out the style that Luna had created before the reception. It was fine for the first half of the reception, but by the end half it was terrible. I was having too much fun to care, and the photographer and cinematographer had left by then so no biggie!!

My necklace was perfect with the dress, thank goodness for eBay huh! My dad actually mentioned my love for eBay in his speech about me, and then called me frugal.

After our ceremony, the bridal party had photos in the Carlton Gardens & Treasury Gardens for a few hours. The weather remained perfect, albeit a little chilly. I did not notice the drop in temperature at all, it must have been because I was high on life!!

Before the reception, our bridal party relaxed and kicked back in the bridal suite as we had a dining room. It was massive. 2 bedrooms, dining room, living room, entrance room, big bathroom. Way bigger than our apartment!!
 We enjoyed canapes and all the alcohol one could desire.

I was meant to take off my dress, steam it, and have it put back on, but it would have taken at least 45 minutes and that was the last thing I wanted to do, so I kicked on to the reception in a wrinkled gown - and didn't mind one bit!

As we entered the reception, we went straight into our first dance, to David Gray - This Years Love.

Our dance was cut short as the band forgot to plug the song in, so when they realised as we got on the dance floor and pressed play it was halfway into our song, and then S decided to cut the dance short, despite us taking lessons and having a full dance routine!!

Our reception was held in The Bourke Room at The Hotel Windsor.

We had the blue lights put in, to create some more atmosphere when it became darker. Lights were the one thing that S wanted, and I was petrified that it would look cheap and tacky. As the room got darker, it looked like a winter wonderland!!

There was meant to be a lot more colour in the room, from the flowers, but they were much shorter and smaller than expected unfortunately.

Ohwell, I am a less is more gal anyway so no biggie.

We had a faux fake cutting for Adrian whilst I still looked remotely polished, and this photo was clearly taken at the real cutting! It's hard to see, but I am brandishing the cake knife hence my evil face.

I loved my dress so much, wrinkles and all. Perfection in my eyes.

Rose from Annette of Melbourne had told me it 100% needed to be steamed by the reception, I just didn't care.

My first dance with Geefa was to Stevie Wonder - Isn't she lovely.

Geefa is no dancer, so I lead him around the dance floor. When I taught him how to spin me, he couldn't stop spinning me and kept saying "Let's spin again!!". Later in the night I saw him spinning Jo around the dance floor also. So you can teach an old dog new tricks!!!

It was such an amazing night, I loved every moment of it!!!

I cannot wait to see our video and the professional photos.

Wedding Menu

I am starving.

We have just decided on our wedding menu, with a tasting in a few weeks to confirm.

Starters

Chefs selection of canapes to be had on the landing at the Hotel Windsor.

Antipasto Platters to share

Taramasalata dip, grilled eggplant, stuffed bell peppers, zucchini, mushroom, baby tomatoes, kalamata olives, spicy salami and prosciutto. Served with grissini and turkish bread.

Entree

- Duo of scallops and prawns with pumpkin puree.

- Spinach and ricotta gnocchi with Gypsy ham, mushroom and semi-dried tomato.

Main Course

- Slow roasted salmon with olive oil mashed potato, rosemary roast truss tomato and green beans.

- Grilled sirloin steak with crushed cocktail potatoes, spring onion, green beans, cafe Paris butter.

Side Dishes

- Steamed seasonal vegetables.

- Rocket Salad with Raspberry dressing.

Dessert

- Summer berry pudding, Creme Chantilly, mango and passionfruit sorbet.

- Apple and rhubarb crumble with toffee ice cream

Wedding Cake

- Chocolate fudge with macademia nuts

- White chocolate mudcake with raspberries

Coffee, Tea and Chocolates.

We are also having the traditional Serbian celebrations before and after the church ceremony, where we have a caterer also. I don't think (hope) our guests will go hungry. There is nothing worse after a wedding than having to stop at Maccas!!

Wedding Dress Fitting #3

I had my third Wedding Dress appointment today, which consisted of seeing the gown on the mannequin.

It is so divine, even though it is still all rough edges and not complete.

I can't recommend Annette of Melbourne enough, they are amazing.

Loving my ceremony dress beyond words.

Rose thought that I was going to be wearing the embellished belt on both the ceremony and reception gown, so made a separate belt, but now she is going to attach the beading to the actual tulle skirt so that it is not a big bulky belt.
As we are getting married in September, in Melbourne, who knows what the weather will be like. There is a very high chance that it will be wet and raining, so my bridesmaids will have the task of keeping my skirt off the wet ground before I enter the church.

How funny is the look on my mums face in this photo?! I imagine her saying "Amazzzzzzzing"

Don't mind the rough edges..

Still trying to decide on whether or not to have the cap sleeves with one layer of tulle, or 2/3 for a more substantial look due to the fullness of my skirt.

The awesomeness of my reception gown really does not show in photos yet, I suppose as it is not finished and wrinkly, I still love it though.

Sometimes less is more.

Geefa was meant to buy my Vera Wang reception necklace in America when he was there last week, but word on the street is that he forgot, so I will just order it online.

It's awesome.

Something that is driving me insane, is the hair issue.

I know that my hair up will match the dresses more, but S loves my hair down, and I found the most beautiful romantic hair style, with my hair out.

I just don't know what to do. I really don't.

Help me.

Anyway, loving the wedding dress process. Am so glad I was lucky enough to be able to go the couture route as I am so picky and had exactly the vision of what I wanted in my head, and Annette of Melbourne have been able to create it to perfection.

So glad I had the french lace and beading taken off!!
